Two of Green Construction's Employees win 1st in Construction CompetitionRecently Mark Oscarson and Morgan Green from Green Construction participated in the 2009 asc student competition in Reno, Nevada. The team, along with Jon Peterson from Nix Construction, Mike Mckenzie and Wes Siddaway from Granite Construction, and Jay larsen from the Chasebrook Company represented Weber State University and took 1st place in the Heavy Civil Competition. It was only the second time Weber State had competed in the heavy civil catergory and the first time to win. Weber State will now be competing in the National Competition at the Annual AGC of America conference in San Diego, March 3-7th, 2009.

"What is pervious pavement? It's the latest in green construction, being used on projects from Beijing to Park City, and it helps solve one basic question: Where does water go when it rains?
With most concrete, when water falls on it, it simply runs off down the street and eventually down the storm sewer system. But what if water could be absorbed directly into the soil through the pavement?"
